A fun and engaging summer art program, Summer Art Studio gives each student an opportunity to engage in a variety art activities, explore new media, think creatively, and take their art skills to a new level. Drawing, painting, sculpture, art related to contemporary artists, and more are explored in the program. 


Dedicated and experienced art instructors, Terry Neigel and Marie Strauch, team up to design and teach this dynamic art program. Both teachers have many years’ experience teaching art in the public schools, grades K-8. Mrs. Neigel currently is an elementary art teacher in Dist. 205, while Mrs. Strauch is the owner and instructor at Strauch Art School. Both Mrs. Neigel and Mrs. Strauch are certified teachers and have earned their Master of Art Degrees in Art Education.

  • Classes meet at First United Methodist Church, 232 S. York St., Elmhurst

  • Sessions run Monday – Thursday

  • Session fee: $110 before May 15th / $120 after May 15th

  • Discount $5 per additional student when registering siblings or same child registering for multiple classes

  • Each session includes drawing, painting, & 3D activities. Art concepts, techniques, and connections with contemporary artists will be presented.

  • Grade levels refer to the grade the student will enter in the fall.

  • Students may register for multiple sessions as the art activities always change.

  • Please bring a sketchbook to class. All other supplies are provided.
