Would you like to learn to draw but don’t know quite how to begin? Maybe you have done a little drawing on your own and would like to take your skills to the next level. This class is for ALL skill levels. Each week will be a new adventure as we practice techniques and focus on proportion, perspective, value, light, shading, color, and more.
Students will be able to observe drawing techniques through class demonstrations and discuss art concepts with the class. Individual guidance will be provided as each student is encouraged to work at their own pace and skill level.
Please bring a sketchbook and drawing supplies to class each week. A supply list will be sent with your registration email.
Adult Drawing Studio is offered throughout the school year (Sept. – May).
BEGINNING WATERCOLOR

Have you thought about trying watercolor painting, but are not sure how to begin? Or maybe you’ve tried but would like some tips to make painting easier. This class is for you!
All supplies are provided for this fun beginning level watercolor class. We will take watercolor painting step by step, learning to stretch the watercolor paper, discussing which brush to use when, how much water to apply, what painting techniques are best in different circumstances, and mixing/blending colors. Demonstrations will be given throughout each class and plenty of guidance will be given along the way. Not only will this class be informative, but each student will be able to experiment, ask questions, get answers, learn, and paint several beautiful watercolor paintings!
This class is offered five times per year, September through May.
WATERCOLOR FOR THE ABSOLUTE BEGINNER

All supplies are provided for this fun beginning level watercolor class. We will start by discussing which supplies are needed to get started. Then, we will take watercolor painting step by step, discussing which brushes to use when, how much water to apply, what painting techniques are best in different circumstances, and how to mix/blend colors. Demonstrations will be given throughout each class and plenty of guidance will be given along the way as each student will try each technique as we go. Gain confidence in your watercolor painting ability by developing skills and brush techniques in a relaxed studio environment. Emphasis is placed on layering colors, working with wet, semi-wet, and dry surfaces, color blending, masking, and more. Advanced techniques and concepts will be covered in this class.
Students will be able to observe painting techniques throughout the entire class with ongoing demonstrations. We will discuss art concepts and problems in watercolor through class discussions. Individual guidance will be provided as each student is encouraged to work at their own pace and skill level.
Please bring your watercolor supplies to class each week. A suggested supply list will be sent with your registration email.
Adult Watercolor Studio is offered five times per year (Sept. – May)
ADULT/CHILD CLASSES
AGES 6+ AND ADULT
Seasonal acrylic painting classes are designed for a child and their special adult to experience an evening of fun and creativity together as they engage in painting a one of a kind piece of artwork to take home. A theme is provided with many possibilities up to the students’ imaginations. Instruction with ideas to get started, supplies, and individual guidance is given as needed for a successful and enjoyable class in our relaxing art studio.
*Class Fee: $35 for each “couple” includes one canvas and all supplies. If you would each like to paint your own canvas or you would like to add on another person to your group, you may do so. There is an additional charge of $10 to add another person and $10 for each additional canvas.
